Parking in Rethymno| Free & Paid Options | What guests should know

Parking in Rethymno Old Town can take a little patience, especially during the summer months and in the evening.

Several free, paid and seasonal parking areas are available outside the historic centre. Most options are within walking distance of the studio.

Use the interactive map below to compare the main parking locations. You can also open directions to each location in Google Maps.

Click a marker to see whether the parking area is free or paid. Each marker also includes opening hours and important restrictions when available.

Important: Vehicle access is restricted in many parts of Rethymno Old Town.

Do not drive past signs indicating a pedestrian area, restricted access or no entry, even when a navigation application suggests that route.

Driving in the Old Town

The darker brown area shown on the map represents Rethymno Old Town. Vehicle access is restricted in much of this area because the streets are narrow and many sections are pedestrianised.

At the entrances to restricted streets, you will normally see traffic signs indicating that vehicles are not allowed to continue. Please do not drive past these signs, even when a navigation application suggests that route.

The easiest option is to park outside the Old Town and continue to the studio on foot.

Free Parking Around the Old Town

Several free public parking areas are located just outside the historic centre. These spaces are usually available on a first-come, first-served basis.

During July and August, finding a space may require some searching. Availability is generally better earlier in the morning or before the busy evening period.

Free parking spaces cannot be reserved and availability is not guaranteed. Always check the current signs and road markings before leaving your vehicle.

Guests staying at Roussas Studio in the Old Town of Rethymno can reach the recommended paid parking opposite the Municipal Garden in approximately three minutes on foot.

Other Parking Locations Shown on the Map

The map shows additional free and paid parking options around central Rethymno.

Availability, prices and operating conditions may change. Always check the signs displayed at each location.

Free Parking on Prevelaki Street

This smaller outdoor parking area lies near the western side of the city centre.

You can walk from here to the Old Town, but the parking area has a limited number of spaces.

The parking area can fill quickly during summer and in the evening. Arriving earlier may improve your chances of finding a space.
