Parking in Rethymno Old Town

Finding parking in central Rethymno can take a little patience, especially during the summer months and in the evening. However, there are several free and paid parking options around the Old Town, all within walking distance of the studio.

The map below shows the main parking areas around the historic centre. Please keep in mind that parking prices, opening hours and access restrictions may change, so always check the signs displayed at each location.

Driving in the Old Town

The darker brown area shown on the map represents Rethymno Old Town. Vehicle access is restricted in much of this area because the streets are narrow and many sections are pedestrianised.

At the entrances to restricted streets, you will normally see traffic signs indicating that vehicles are not allowed to continue. Please do not drive past these signs, even when a navigation application suggests that route.

The easiest option is to park outside the Old Town and continue to the studio on foot.

Free parking around the Old Town

Several free public parking areas are located just outside the historic centre. These spaces are usually available on a first-come, first-served basis.

During July and August, finding a space may require some searching. Availability is generally better earlier in the morning or before the busy evening period.

Recommended paid parking near the studio

The paid parking area opposite the Municipal Garden is the most convenient option for the studio.

It is approximately a three-minute walk from the property and is useful when you prefer not to spend time searching for free street parking.

The price has previously been around €5 per night, but rates may change. Please confirm the current price with the parking attendant or at the entrance before leaving your vehicle.

Other parking locations shown on the map

There are two large parking areas beside one another near Rethymno Marina and the port.

One section is normally operated as paid parking, while the adjoining port area may offer free parking. Guests should check the entrance signs carefully because the conditions may change.

This area is convenient for the marina, the city beach, the eastern seafront and the eastern side of the Old Town.
